I’m just starting to explore this topic: Attempt to track legislation within the Political Tracker section of this website, or not?

On the one hand… The legislative session moves quickly, and unless a site has a group of active users that tracking legislation would actually serve, it may not be worth the trouble to track the twists and turns of the legislative process.

On the other hand… The Tracker might be an effective way to let people know about important bills.

If tracking legislation is tackled here, where should it be incorporated into the Political Tracker:

    – Within each issue of local issue tracker?
    – As a separate legislation tracker?
    – As separate sections under the State and US House and Senate?

To be effective a legislation tracker would need to be coupled with a system of alerts, letting advocates know when it is time to submit testimony, etc…

In addition to the HI legislature’s own Bill Tracker system of notifications, what are some other websites, social media pages, etc, where people track legislation and provide some commentary to help the public engage with the process?

The best approach in the short-term might be to provide links to existing organizations’ websites that highlight their legislative priorities.
